** HISTORY OF RIF**
The Rockford Indie Fest was a series of concerts launched in JHB in 2009 when the owners of Rockford Media wanted to put on their own lineups of their favourite bands and run the event in such a way, basically, that the bands actually got paid there fair share of the pie. Over 6 events in 2009, the Indie Fests went from Benoni to Boksburg to Joburg to Pretoria to Fourways, enjoying successful events at legendary locations such as Cool Runnings Fourways, Tings an' Times, The Black Dahlia, Cool Runnings Benoni and Schivas Rock.
Some of the bands who performed included The Black Hotels, Cortina Whiplash, The Hellphones, Jim Neversink, Martin Rocka & The Sick Shop, The Cavalier, Juggernaught, The One Night Stands and many more.
And so after 15 years, The Rockford Indie Fest has finally returned for installment number 7. This is #RIF7!
