HERITAGE DAY 2024 BRAAI BROODJIE COMPETITION - FOR CHARITY (PETS) 24 SEPTEMBER 8AM - 3PM R350 TEAM ENTRY FEE TASTERS TO THE PUBLIC - R30 PER TASTING Pimp up your Braaibroodjie and come battle it out over an open fire in support of a good cause. Contestants who craft the best tasting, Braaibroodjie stand a chance to take home fantastic prizes as well as a hearty helping of bragging rights. There are also three other prizes: Best Dressed Stall, Best Spirit & the Pot Luck Prize. Though, this Heritage Day affair isn’t limited to only those slaving away over their pimped up bread affair; visitors can sample each stalls creation and can perhaps even sway the judges’ opinions. Samples will be for sale at R30 per sample. and the proceeds of the sales go to a nominated charity. There will also be raffle tickets for sale with great prizes up for grabs. This year’s beneficiary is the PETS (Pet Empowerment in Townships). The PETS Team consists, of dedicated volunteers who try and save, maintain and where possible improve the living conditions of animals, in their immediate surroundings, by alleviating their pain, hunger and abuse. They strive to improve the lives of animals living in townships and poor communities by giving them daily meals, warm shelters, regular inoculations, sterilizations and vet care in emergency situations. They also re-home those animals that are unwanted, unloved or lost.
