Herkie is a gynecologist that currently serves on the District Specialist Team of Mopanie. Herkie has been married to Corinne for 40 years and they are proud parents of 6 children and 6 (soon to be 8) grandchildren. He spent 5 years establishing the ACDP party and was lecturer at the medical faculty at Stellenbosch University from 2000. He retired at 65, but started up again in 2012 in Limpopo Province, training nurses and doctors in the essential skills of managing obstetric emergencies.
